How to Create Cozy Bedrooms Out of Strange Hotel Rooms

White noise machines for travel weigh only a little over one pound, but it can work wonders on your sleep patterns while in strange hotel rooms.  It is a common experience among frequent travelers that the first night is always the most difficult night to catch sleep.  Blame it on the natural anxiety of finding one's self outside of the comfort zone, or the incessant noise that some appliances make, but on the over-all, you need to find a way not to lose sleep.  And a white noise machine is just the best travel mate you would not want to leave home, apart from your usual travel companion that measures 36-24-26, with autumn-blue eyes to boot!

Seriously, a white noise machine is a very functional gadget that masks noise, effectively.  It has built-in sound card that stores a plethora of soothing natural sounds, such as rain and waterfall.  Depending on your choice, your white noise machine releases this sound to neutralize intruding noise in your room.

As you are familiar with the natural sounds that your white noise machine emits each time you use it, you build a level of comfort knowing that there is something "more like home" that you can pack and bring, wherever you go.  This eliminates the feeling of alone-ness, or sense of detachment from home.

Travel Tips: How to Pack at Less Time

A white noise machine is first on my list when my family plans to spend the weekend in a campground.  I am a mother of three, and although camping has always been my favorite outdoor activity, it loses its appeal on me when I would have a hard time making the children go to sleep.  Just like most kids, my children do not sleep easily when they are in strange places.  Even hotel rooms, with all their amenities, cannot ease up my children’s anxiety of not being home, cuddled between sheets in their all-too-familiar beds.  That’s why when we plan to travel, I always make sure that before I write my checklist for other things that I should ready for the trip, I have already packed my Journey Portable White Noise System.

Having done that, I proceed to writing my list.  How to pack at less time is no brainer, if you have a list.

First, list down all the necessities like food, toiletries, clothes, and all basic things that your family needs for the trip.  Group items that you can find in a particular location, say the kitchen.  This will ensure you won’t forget something, plus you save steps.

Second decide what family activities you would want to do at the campgrounds.  It’s nice to throw in a surprise activity, but you can forget some gadgets necessary to pull it off successfully, without advance planning.

Third, include in your list things you would need for life’s little emergencies, like a flashlight, a cell phone or a laptop charger, and some batteries.  Don’t forget your first-aid kit! You’ll never know when an emergency strikes.
